To checkout and download you need…

• A valid library card
• Internet access
• A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the type(s) of materials you wish to download
• Free software for the computer or device on which you wish to use the materials available at this site

Step A. Check out

Browse or search this site for downloadable materials. This will be indicated by either searching through the Overdrive catalogue, or electronic resource icons. When you find a title you're interested in, add it to the eBookbag and check it out.

Once you have checked out a title, a download page is displayed. 

Step B. How to Download to Your PC

You must have Adobe Digital Editions software installed and authorized with an Adobe ID. The first time you run Adobe Digital Editions, you are prompted to authorize the application by entering an Adobe ID. If you don't have an Adobe ID, visit here. Here are directions to download Adobe Digital Editions.

You will also need to install Overdrive media for your PC. Click here for the link if you don't have the software on your computer. Once the software is added to the PC, you will have to:

• Click the Download button on the Overdrive site
• Click the Open button on the File Download box
• Adobe Digital Editions will open to display the downloaded book

Step C. How to Transfer from Your Computer to Your Kobo

• Connect your Kobo to your PC with the USB cable that came with your device
• Click on the Library View button in Adobe Digital Editions
• Left click and drag a book from the right side to the left pane where you see your Kobo device listed
• Click the Safely Remove Device option generally found in the lower right hand corner
• After the Safe to Remove Hardware message displays, unplug your Kobo from your computer

Step D. How to Begin Reading on Your Kobo

• Press the Menu button on the Kobo
• Highlight the Documents option with the navigation pad
• Press the Select button in the middle of the navigation pad
• Highlight the book you want to read
• Press the Select button in the middle of the navigation pad
• Begin reading

After the book is opened once it will be available on the Home screen of your Kobo.

When the lending period for e-book expires (7, 14, days) the book will be erased. Please confirm that the book has left your device by manually erasing the book.
