GET IN THE PICTURE AT YOUR LIBRARY WITH SNAPSHOT DAY 2013”

The Vermilion Public Library is joining public libraries across the province in “Snapshot Day 2013” during October to show how important public libraries are to the people and communities of Alberta.

On October 10th, Vermilion Public Library will compile statistics, customer comments, photographs and other data chronicling a typical day in the library. The results at Vermilion Public Library will be used to accompany local and regional advocacy efforts, as well as provincial initiatives.

To make snapshot day special this year we are offering a photo booth complete with an assortment of props and masks to show our patrons having fun at the library. Come by on October 10th and give us your best goofy picture for our facebook photo album.

The concept for Snapshot Day originated with the New Jersey State Library Association, and has spread throughout the U.S. and Canada. The purpose of the day is to create a ‘snapshot’ of what happens in a library in a single day and to help us demonstrate how the community is impacted by the library.
