Fun in the Van
What letters or words do you see when you look out the window of the car on billboards, road signs, vehicles or buildings? "Seeing Words" is just one game in this series developed by Washington Learning Systems to help make the miles in the van roll along smoother while encouraging language and literacy development. Print off your own copies, or pick a few up at the library.
New Junior Nonfiction
Kids - don't forget about our junior nonfiction section when looking for a books, including easy readers. Check out the new list on our Home page for some brand new titles. There is enough variety in topics you are sure to find something of interest. You'll find many of these titles on display for the next month or so at the library.
Laughing Out Loud
What a great morning to be a kid at the library! Daryl Robb and his buddy Leroy the Lobster from Down by the Docks put on a performance that had the kids waving their arms, dressing up, telling jokes, screaming and singing. Daryl and Leroy (played by his daughter) are true professional entertainers, as they know how to play the crowd and 'not hold back'. Our Aboriginal People
Come and browse our new display featuring books, facts, a quiz, and artifacts on our aboriginal people. This ties in with our Science Alberta exhibit which runs from May 27th through June 6th and features “Colour in our World” from an aboriginal perspective. Thanks to the Vermilion Heritage Museum for donating the artifacts and prints.
