Another Successful Science Alberta Program

Over 150 children enjoyed our interactive program on magnetism and received a personalized tour of the library in the past two weeks. Thanks to the teachers, parent volunteers and Science Alberta for allowing the kids (and adults) the chance to experience "Pirates of the Lodestone" and learn first-hand what the library has to offer.

Their attention to detail and overall effort was A+ in our opinion! We look forward to incorporating many of their ideas into a more functional and aestetically pleasing work space. Get Into Overdrive!

Vermilion Public Library now has a 'Virtual Branch'! It's called Overdrive, and is essentially a digital library where patrons can download eBooks (digital books, magazines or graphic novels), WMA or MP3 audiobooks (recorded readings of a book), videos or music onto their Mac or PC. Comics presentation was great!

Jay from Happy Harbor Comics and his two helpers did a fantastic job of enlightening us on the world of comics, while providing us with some stunning artwork - thanks again! We are also very thankful to the Vermilion Standard for their coverage and great article on the event. Coming in March, we are pleased to partner with Midwest Family Connections once again to offer "The Power of Positive Parenting". I (Geraldine) will take the stage on the 18th to help get you started with "Overdrive", our new virtual library.
